SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 12

Commending Mrs. Maxine S. Scarbro for her service as
International President of the General Federation of Women's
Clubs.
Whereas, Mrs. Maxine S. Scarbro has devoted many years of
dedicated service through her affiliation with local, state,
regional and international organizations of the General
Federation of Women's Clubs; and
Whereas, Mrs. Scarbro is a former president of the Woman's
Club of Montgomery and founder and first president of the GFWC-WV
Capitol Woman's Club; and
Whereas, Dedicated to promoting self-improvement, Mrs.
Scarbro organized, chartered and served as first president of the
West Virginia Professional Parliamentarians and she has conducted
many leadership seminars across the State of West Virginia and
the United States; and
Whereas, Mrs. Scarbro is currently serving as International
President of the General Federation, which consists of clubs in
many cities in every state, Puerto Rico and forty-six foreign countries; and
Whereas, The Senate finds it appropriate to recognize and
pay special tribute to outstanding West Virginians such as Mrs.
Maxine S. Scarbro; therefore, be it
Resolved by the Senate:
That the Senate hereby commends Mrs. Maxine S. Scarbro for
her outstanding service as International President of the General
Federation of Women's Clubs and for her service to the State of
West Virginia; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Clerk is hereby directed to
forward a copy of this resolution to Mrs. Maxine S. Scarbro, the
General Federation of Women's Clubs, the president of the GFWC
West Virginia Women's Clubs and the Capitol press corps.
